Follow this last set of rails, battling off lone infected as well as hordes of them, until you reach the car that you can climb up on to scale the cliff wall. Tanks sometimes wait in ambush up there, but regardless you’ll need to follow it around to the left to reach the farm.
On the plus side, your group is done with rails. The bad part is you are about to drop down into a field of tall crops and yes, there will probably be a horde waiting among its tall stalks. Watch all directions, and try not to shoot your own group.
It’s easy to get lost in there, but if you reach the bales of hay take a right and you should see the farmhouse, or at least hear the occasional transmission over its radio to help guide the way.
The radio can be used to communicate on the military band to check for any evacuation options, but it will also annoy the hell out of all infected in the area due to its incredibly loud speakers. Before you use it check the farmhouse, shed, and barn for supplies.
Once you’ve summoned a rescue you can make your stand in the house itself if you like, but if you don’t want to be the star in your own bad horror film you are better off camping in the barn until help arrives. If your group climbs the ladder and stays on the second level you have bountiful ammo and the infected only have two ways in. Two people watch the ladder ledge, two people watch the hole in the barn roof, and if a tank gets in with you just leap out and circle back into the barn from below rather than fight it up there.
(Though many stories from the outbreak of walking dead will never be told, the ones that were all seem to agree that the best tool humanity had against the walking dead threat was to adapt to the situation. While sheer military might and the finest of the world’s medicine failed to contain the outbreak small bands of people still prevailed, thanks in no small part due to those who passed on their survival tips such as the ones found in this notebook onto other groups of survivors passing through.)
