The Indies Issue #11
Fairies, guns, and bombs - on my!
Date: Tuesday, August 07, 2007
Author: James Fudge

Also over at Manifesto this week is Impulse , an odd game where you must make your "ball hit the target." The concept sounds simple but you'll need to use a variety of other elements to get from point A to B including teleports, bombs, and lots of environmental objects to deal with or use to get the job done. The art style in this game is pretty plain which works great for such a simple but fun game concept... Check out the Impulse demo at Manifesto Games, and if you like it, buy it.

Bonus Round: GameTrove

This week I wanted to highlight GameTrove.net , one of my weekly stops for indie games on the internet. This portal doesn't actually sell indie games but uses advertisers to pay the bills - which means that developers get all of the money for sales. This in and of itself is a great thing. The other cool thing about GameTrove is that it doesn't discriminate - you can find all kinds of games there - from hardcore indie games to more casual offerings. The average price seems to be around $20 USD, which is the norm for most indie games. If you are looking for another place to find a nice selection of indie and casual games, then check out GameTrove.net. Be sure to tell them you learned about it from The Indies!

And that's all for this week. Thanks for reading - see you next week. As always, questions, comments and hate mail are welcomed - send it along to jamesbfudge@gmail.com or gameshark.feedback@yahoo.com . - James Fudge
