How much larger is Torchlight II compared to the original?
I'm going to guess-timate that it is about three times larger than the original.
We've already learned that there's a lot of new overland areas but there's still some underworld areas as well, right?
Oh, absolutely - can't get rid of dungeons.
So where would you say most of the game takes place?
I'm going to guess that the balance of it is still going to be spent in dungeons, so maybe one-third overlands, two-thirds underworld. I mean, it's not finalized yet - we're kind of pushing that back and forth based on what feels best - but that's my guess-timate.
And are we going to have all-new environments in the underworld?
Yeah, there won't be any repeat environments in this game - it's all new stuff.
...and all new monsters?
Some of the old monsters may return but they'll be refurbished and ideally have some interesting changes. We have some monster races that we kind of want to keep around for lore reasons, but they won't necessarily look exactly the same. And there will always be spiders.
