GameTap today rather proudly announced that 2K Games’ Sid Meier’s Civilization IV has been selected as the 1,000th game added to the network’s massive library of current and classic console, arcade, PC and original titles. By reaching this milestone, GameTap has established a new industry standard for depth and quality of on-demand gaming content, far surpassing competing broadband gaming channels.

Developed by Firaxis Games, Civilization IV joins a host of other great Sid Meier content available on the GameTap service, including the recently added Sid Meier’s Pirates!, an exclusive Sid Meier interview on GameTap TV and an in-depth retrospective on Meier’s prolific career on GameTap Read. Players wishing to play the games, watch the interview or purchase Civilization IV for direct download should visit www.gametap.com/SidMeier .
