The Adventure Company has announced Murder in the Abbey for Windows has shipped to store shelves across North America.

“Murder in the Abbey is a fresh approach for adventure gamers,” said Brian Gladman, Product Manager at The Adventure Company. “The game offers a remarkable reproduction of a medieval abbey, with stunning architecture and works of art. Players will have 60 locations to explore in a unique cinematic presentation which combines 2D and 3D graphics.”

An old abbey is the scene of a series of mysterious murders, and only one man can put a stop to the slaughter. Former Grand Inquisitor Leonardo and his assistant Bruno are sent by the Vatican to the isolated abbey to investigate the strange goings-on surrounding a carefully guarded secret.

Owing to the lack of an overarching storyline, Mount & Blade is a game that’s difficult to get into at first. If you can get past the growing pains, however, it offers a compelling, dynamic world that you are free to explore at your leisure and a combat model that is both frenetic and addicting.
