Brink Gets Early Release for Good Behavior
Has nothing to do with competition.
Date: Monday, April 11, 2011
Author: Brian Rowe

The release date for Brink on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC has been moved to the earlier date of May 10, 2011.

"Production wrapped on Brink earlier than we planned and we didn't see any reason to keep gamers from getting their hands on this highly anticipated game as soon as it was ready," said Pete Hines, VP of PR and Marketing for Bethesda Softworks.

Wow. A game that is absolutely, completely finished ahead of schedule, without major patches to fix game-breaking bugs or missing features down the road? I have to tip my hat to Splash Damage and Bethsda.

Then again, the cynic in me wonders if the release of LA Noire on May 17 has anything to do with it.
