Under new management with GamersFirst, APB: Reloaded is about to enter open beta, as revealed at the developer's blog .

Open beta begins May 18, 2011. To gain access, you will need an account with GamersFirst and you must register at the APB website . GamersFirst would also like players to know that implementation of the new Skill-rating system and changes to spawning are still on the way.

Upon it's original release, APB was widely praised for it's incredibly deep character-customization, user-generated content, and open-world gameplay. Unfortunately, APB suffered from severe balance issues early on and never managed to find its audience afterward.

GamersFirst purchased APB and are currently re-working many of the gameplay mechanics and converting the sandbox-style MMO into a free-to-play title with premium content available.
