December 15, 2011 will be the last day for Star Wars Galaxies.

Subscribers in good standing as of September 15 will be able to play for free during the final months, and, as of October 15, will also be able to try out one of SOE's other MMOs for free until the end of the year, including EverQuest, EverQuest II, DC Universe Online, and oddly enough, Free Realms and Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures (both are already free).

SOE has also teased a galaxy-ending event, for which details will become available at a later date.
