Today Zynga and Tencent announced the beta launch of Zynga City, a localized version of Zynga’s popular game CityVille in China. CityVille was Zynga’s first game launched in multiple languages and millions of people play each month across the world to connect with their friends while building and expanding their dream cities. Now, with the cooperation of Tencent’s Open Platform, Chinese players will be able to play in their own language with Zynga City, uniquely created for this audience.
Tencent announced a one stop plug-in and cross platform operation commitment to application developers at its partnership conference in June 2011. Since then, Tencent has integrated the platforms including Pengyou, Weibo, QQ games, QZone and Q+.
Zynga City will include brand-new decorations and architecture the Chinese audience can identify and connect with, in-game events and competitions linked to Chinese holidays and news as well as culturally relevant game mechanics including the feature for players to send street peddlers to their friend’s cities. Zynga City will also feature an innovative quest system to satisfying Chinese players’ desire for rich storytelling within the games they love to play.
