Guide Written by: Brandon "Webslinger" Cackowski-Schnell
Spider-Man, Spider-Man, does whatever a spider can, which in this game apparently means webbing dudes into walls from the shadows, flying and making Neal Patrick Harris even cooler. Well, that’s an exaggeration, NPH can’t possibly get any cooler but you understand. Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions is not only the best Spider-Man game to come along in quite some time but is also a genuinely good super-hero game and a somewhat easy 1000 points. Well, it’s a somewhat easy 800 points, a slightly more difficult 900 points and a possibly very frustrating 1000 points. Still a good super-hero game that you can easily get 800 points off of? I’ll be first in line for radioactive spider bites.
The game is broken up into four different dimensions: Amazing which focuses on the “classic” Spider complete with web powers, Noir which is like playing the Peter Parker skinned version of Splinter Cell, 2099 which features a futuristic Spidey taking on techno-organic villains and Ultimate, the teen-focused reboot that reunites Spidey with the black costume. The dimensions all have aspects in common and still all manage to differ a good amount meaning you’ll have to be on your toes, er, spider-toes to get all the points however with the use of this guide you should be on your way in no time.
Before we get started it’s important to point out that the game is somewhat inconsistent about what things are saved to your profile, what things are saved to your save and what things reset upon finishing a level. That being said, be sure to pay attention to what is saved where lest you end up either wasting time grinding something that doesn’t need to be grinded out, or worse, grinding something that doesn’t end up getting saved. If all you’re interested in is the location of the hidden spiders check the end of the guide for all of these pesky arachnids.
Story / Difficulty Achievements
Easy as pie! - 20pts
Complete all levels on Easy
At the risk of sounding condescending, if you have a problem playing this game on Easy, perhaps a slightly less complicated hobby is in order, like breathing with your mouth shut. Still, that doesn’t make a dedicated Easy run useless. If you plan on playing on Hard and getting all of the challenges done, doing both at the same time probably isn’t going to work. Instead do an Easy (or Nomal) run first, complete all of the challenges and use the collected essence to buy enough upgrades to prepare you for hard.
Is this normal? - 50pts
Complete all levels on Normal
Normal is pretty normal if you’ve played action games. There are plenty of health pickups around so unless you aren’t paying attention to your health bar during boss fights dying shouldn’t be an issue.
Hard pressed - 100pts
Complete all levels on Hard
Hard can be a challenge specifically during the boss battles so use your Spidey sense to find the gold spider emblems so you can get health pickups when you need it. You can play any of the levels on any difficulty level so if hard is really causing problems, do the first few levels on a lower difficulty level to gain enough spider essence to buy a decent set of character upgrades and combat moves and then replay those levels on hard.
Lead on, M-Dubs! - 5pts
Complete the Tutorial
The tutorial will give you a small taste of each dimension’s game play style. Complete it and this achievement is yours.
End of Act 1 - 20pts
Complete Act 1 on any difficulty level

Amazing - Kraven
Noir - Hammerhead
2099 - Hobgoblin
Ultimate - Electro
End of Act 2 - 20pts
Complete Act 2 on any difficulty level
Act 2’s villains are:
Amazing - Sandman
Noir - Vulture
2099 - Scorpion
Ultimate - Deadpool
End of Act 3 - 20pts
Complete Act 3 on any difficulty level
Act 3’s villains are:
Amazing - Juggernaut
Noir - Goblin
2099 - Doctor Octopus
Ultimate - Carnage
In every level you’ll face the villain of that level multiple times however the achievement won’t pop until you complete the fight at the end of the level. In the interest of helping wall crawlers everywhere, here are strategies for dealing with every boss encounter.
Survival of the fittest - 15pts
Defeat Kraven on any difficulty level
Kraven Fight #1: While Kraven is on the floor of the dome use whatever attacks you can to deal damage and chip away at his health. Pay attention to your Spidey sense to dodge and avoid his attacks. When Kraven jumps up to one of the upper perches quickly web zip (tap right trigger) to get up on a perch yourself lest you get perforated by the spears coming out of the floor. Find Kraven and web zip into him to knock him back down. Keep up this pattern of fighting on the ground and web zipping when necessary to finish the fight.
Kraven Fight #2: For this fight you’re going to want to make use of the many pillars. Web zip to the top of one and when your Spidey sense tingles that usually means Kraven is going to jump to the pillar. Jump out of the way and Kraven will get his blades stuck on the pillar. Use your web strike attack to pull yourself into Kraven and lay the smack on him. Kraven will throw his blades at you and if they stick in the ground you can pick them up with your webbing and throw them back at Kraven. Just keep jumping, dodging and web striking and the fight will be over soon.
The hammer falls - 15pts
Defeat Hammerhead on any difficulty level
Hammerhead Fight #1: Stay behind the pillars to keep yourself from getting shot up and use the shadows to get above and behind Hammerhead. Once you’re behind him, drop down and follow the prompt to do a web takedown on Hammerhead. Do this three times and the battle is over.
Hammerhead Fight #2: This one is very similar to the first one only now Hammerhead has a rocket launcher to play with. Hammerhead will keep shooting bullets until you damage him so use your webbing to pick up a nearby object and chuck it at him. Once it lands, quickly get behind one of the machines in this area. Hammerhead will shoot a rocket at you, hit the machine instead and the room will fill with steam. Use your Spidey sense to keep tabs on Hammerhead and then web zip up to the upper catwalk, get behind Hammerhead and follow the prompt for a takedown. Do this three times, do some first person head smacking and the fight is over.
Clipped wings - 15pts
Defeat Hobgoblin on any difficulty level
Hobgoblin Fight #1: Hopefully you took the time to lay the smackdown on Hobby during the freefall section either by plowing him into things or by punching him when you grabbed him. If not this fight will take longer, but it still manageable. Hobgoblin’s main attack is going to be to throw pumpkin bombs at you. If you haven’t purchased the web shot attack by now, do so and then, while locked on to Hobgoblin with the left trigger, pepper him with web shots whenever he forms pumpkin bombs. This will make him drop the bombs and damage himself in the process. If that doesn’t work, when he throws the bombs use your webbing to grab them out of midair and chuck them back at him. How ever you do it, once he takes a hit he’ll go on the ground to go up to him and beat on him a back. Repeat this strategy, avoiding him as necessary and the fight will be over.
Hobgoblin Fight #2: Very similar to the first one with two exceptions. One is that you’ll have Public Eye troops to deal with and the second is that Hobgoblin will never go to ground. For both enemies you can use the thrown pumpkin bombs to do damage. Just grab them out of the air and throw them at whatever bad guy is annoying you the most at the moment.
Hobgoblin Fight #3: Now it’s just you and him...sort of. When he makes the clones of himself use your web strike attack to dispatch them quickly. Then it’s just a matter of knowing when to attack. Throw the pumpkin bombs back at him, avoid the strafing runs and when he does his ground pound move, jump over the shockwaves. Keep dealing with clones and hitting him when you can and you’ll be rid of this winged freak in no time.
Now there's a shock - 15pts
Defeat Electro on any difficulty level
Electro Fight #1: Don’t bother trying to hit Electro when he has his shield bubble on as you’ll get hurt and he won’t. When he’s unshielded hit him as much as you can until he starts to electrify the central platform. At that point either jump off of the platform or web zip to the smaller generators. When Electro goes on top of the smaller generators, web zip into him to do some damage. At times during the fight he’ll go to the center platform and shoot off a beam attack. Just jump over it and wait for his shield to drop before you hit him again.
Electro Fight #2: Again, don’t bother hitting him when he’s shielded. When he’s in air, zip around the map and avoid his projectile attacks. When he goes to the ground, stay on the little generators but you want to make sure you’re close to him. He’ll send out some shockwaves that won’t hurt you as long as you’re not on the ground and then he’ll crouch down to rest. At this point, smack the amperage out of him. When his health gets low enough he’ll spawn some electric creatures and then go recharge his health so web zip into the creatures to take care of them and then web strike into Electro to stop the recharge. Keep up the pattern of avoiding his attacks and hitting him when he’s resting to finish the fight.
Electro Fight #3: He’s huge! Avoid his beam attacks until he puts one of his hands on the dam. Run up to it and follow the prompt to cover the hand with webbing. He’ll swing it backwards and do damage to himself when he hits the dam. Do the same thing again with the other hand and Electro will turn around and move away from you. Use the floating debris to web zip over to the other side of the dam. At this point the fight is all about evading Electro’s attacks and defeating the monsters he creates as you can’t damage him directly. Once he damages himself enough you’ll get a prompt to web up his big ol’ blue noggin so do so and pull the plug on him.
Here's mud in your eye! - 15pts
Defeat Sandman on any difficulty level
Sandman Fight #1: Either throw the nearby water barrels into Sandy or knock the water valves off of the pipes to get Sandman wet and turn him into mud. Once he’s muddy just use whatever combos you want to get his health down. Keep doing this until the fight is over.
Sandman Fight #2: You need to move around so that Sandman hits the wagons filled with water barrels in an attempt to smash you. Once this happens approach his muddy hand and beat on it until he lifts it up. Do this with the other hand and Sandman will start shooting sand balls that you’ll have to avoid. Use the hanging water barrels to douse his face and he’ll put his head on the ledge allowing you to pound sand. Literally. Repeat this strategy with his face until the fight is over.
Sandman Fight #3: Use the debris field to zip around and whenever one of Sandman’s heads materializes, grab a water barrel and douse his face. Then zip over to it and punch it repeatedly. When he starts spawning multiple faces only one of them will be affected by the water so if you throw a barrel and it doesn’t do anything, grab another one and throw it into a different face. Do this enough times and Sandman will be done.
The caged bird squawks - 15pts
Defeat Vulture on any difficulty level
Vulture Fight #1: Basically you want to chase the Vulture around and hit him when you can. It’s quite an annoying fight but not terribly difficult. Madame Web will tell you to use the spotlights but they’re useless. Use your Spidey sense to keep track of Vulture and hit him when you can.
Vulture Fight #2: This is the same fight as the first time only now he’ll throw moltovs too. Use your web shot power to get him to drop the molotovs, doing damage to himself in the process and then beat up on him. His throwing blade attack is also upgraded so jump out of the way when he starts chucking knives. Otherwise just keep track of him with your Spidey sense, catch up to him and punch him.
Took the sting out of him - 15pts
Defeat Scorpion on any difficulty level
Scorpion Fight #1: When Scorpy charges you, go into your defensive stance. He’ll swing at you a couple of times with his tail, which you’ll dodge and then he’ll try to attack you with an attack you can’t dodge. As soon as you see your Spidey sense tingle, roll out of the way. Scorpion will get his tail stuck in the ground allowing you to beat up on him. Keep doing this until his health is low enough that he runs away and perches up on a wall. When he does this, throw the eggs at him to knock him down and then follow the prompt to do some serious damage. Repeat both strategies until he turns tail and leaves.
Scorpion Fight #2: Hold off on picking up that Spidey emblem as it’s the only one in the room and you’ll probably need it for a health boost at some point. You won’t be able to hit Scorpion while he’s moving so keep dodging him until he gets stuck in the ground and then beat up on him. Try to avoid the scorpion creatures if you can as they tend to screw up your attacks. When Scorpion is perched above you in the center of the room, use the eggs to knock him down and then get to him quickly for a prompted attack. When he’s jumping about, be mindful of when a green circle appears on the ground as that means he’s about to land there, and possibly on you at the same time.
