PlayStation 3 Price Cut?

According to a post on Barron's (by way Engadget), Sony is planning a press event on October 12th to make a big announcemnet concerning the PlayStation 3. While details of that announcement have not be revealed, speculation is that Sony will announce a price cut to the console system - by way of a new, lower priced 40GB console. While thjis makes sense it is an unconfirmed rumor at this time. Stay tuned.
