Fourth Unlockable Map for 1943 Revealed
Unlocked to players when 43 million kills is reached.

DICE has announced that the upcoming XBLA and PSN title, Battlefield 1943 will allow players to unlock a 4th map, called Coral Sea– that players have already paid for mind you–when a certain number of kills is reached. The WWII Coral Sea map will be unlocked when the multiplayer community achieves 43 million kills on Xbox Live and the same number on PlayStation Network. When the game ships this summer, Battlefield 1943 will include three maps (Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, and Wake Island) plus this fourth bonus map, for 1200 MS Points or $14.99.

Coral Sea is designed to showcase the intense battle in the skies, offering an all-new Air superiority game mode. The legendary WWII action this map provides will have players dog fighting in this airplanes-only map, proving once again DICE delivers on a first class online vehicle warfare experience better than anyone else.

I may not be the brightest bulb in the box, but I have a pretty strong feeling that this is a horribly bad idea. But hey, that’s why they get paid the big bucks right?
