Ubisoft has announced the development of Assassin's Creed: Revelations, the fourth console-based game and Ezio's final adventure, although this does not mean that the series will not continue with another character. As described in the press release:

"In Assassin?s Creed Revelations, master assassin Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of his legendary mentor, Altaļr, on a journey of discovery and revelation. It is a perilous path - one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threatens to destabilize the region."

Multiplayer, introduced in Brotherhood, will also return with more modes, maps, and characters.
