The engineer offers a different style of play, focusing on turrets and other support equipment that you can build to defend control points. A tap on the directional pad opens up a list of equipment that can be built at a point cost. I made good use of this ability by setting down a couple of turrets to defend a critical control point, effectively preventing the competition from capturing it.

With so much variety among its nine classes and plenty of interesting elements packed into the maps, Team Fortress 2 is shaping up to be a quality multiplayer experience. Whether it could stand on its own is debatable, but included in The Orange Box its value should be undeniable. Expect more on The Orange Box when it ships for Xbox 360 and PC the second week of October, with PlayStation 3 following in early November.
