Of course, visuals only carry a game so far. Racing games are a dime a dozen, and the game has to offer more than shiny cars. Fortunately, the unique way in which it integrates online features into gameplay sets it apart from other racing games; moreover, this is a potentially groundbreaking title that could serve as an example for blurring the line between solo and connected gameplay. Even though we're utterly discontent with the decision to dump crash junctions, Burnout Paradise on the whole promises to reinvigorate the series while keeping intact the fantastic crash-and-bash racing.

New DLC brings back some fan favorites to take on some pivotal roles.
