E3 2008: Mirror's Edge Preview
Mirror’s Edge looks like a sure winner. It’s edgy, has a very unique gameplay, and looks terrific.

The game itself looks spectacular. I like that the uniformly grayish-white buildings in the city are only occasionally broken up by small swatches of bright color here and there. This uniformity of color is also functional though, since in Runner Vision you should be able to easily see those red highlighted areas. The first-person perspective makes you feel as if you’re really scaling that wall, leaping across that wide gap, and shimmying down a drainpipe. I asked about PC system requirements but I was told that they were still figuring it out.

Mirror’s Edge looks like a sure winner. It’s edgy, has a very unique gameplay, and looks terrific. At the same time, I’m not sure if parkour play will appeal to everyone. We’ll just have to wait and see.
