WipEout HD Preview
Sony revs up this stunning racer remake for PlayStation Network later this year.

Expanded control options add a welcome layer of depth and customization. WipEout HD allows you to steer using either the analog stick or directional pad (which is superior between the two); additionally, you're welcome to employ motion controls to tilt your way through events. A pilot assist feature that steers you away from walls can be toggled from the options menu is a must when using motion-controls, though. Double tapping the L2 and R2 shoulder buttons also helps in strafing away from obstacles and maintaining your speed.

Less a remake and more an actualization of how the game was always meant to be played, the game promises to be a must-download title when it hits PlayStation Network later this year. While it's easy to criticize the game for a lack of new content, the sheer quality of the remake and its gorgeous attention to visual detail makes it a compelling title. We're hoping the price hovers around the $9.99. Sony hasn't committed to a specific release date, but promises the game will be out before the year is over.
