The game also features several game modes. The default is the standard game with the storyline, while Katamari Drive mode gives you a turbocharged ball. Eternal mode doesn’t have a timer, so you’re free to take as much time as you want gathering items, and finally there’s Classic mode which is similar to earlier Katamari games.
Although Katamari Forever supports local multiplayer and network rankings via PlayStation Network, it curiously does not feature online multiplayer. It’s a real shame; after all, online multiplayer was available in its predecessor, Beautiful Katamari, so fans may expect this feature in this game. In spite of this concern, after playing the demo, I get the strong feeling that Katamari Forever has the potential to deliver the same quirky charm found in past Katamari games that has made the series a cult classic.
