STORY DESIGN
One of the most highly anticipated 2010 features is the Story Design. In this mode, you can write your very own WWE soap opera, complete with wrestling schedules, cutscenes, matches and dialogue. Say you want to orchestrate an elaborate storyline where The Undertaker falls head over heels in love with Gail Kim. In order to win her affection, he must win a 40-man Royal Rumble. However, after his victory, his car explodes, leaving his legs broken before the next match. When Golddust and R-Truth gang up on him, the Referee saves the day with a sledge hammer and, in turn, claims Gail Kim for himself. Ludicrous, I know. But it can all happen.
To do this, you could choose the cutscene where one wrestler offers a bouquet of flowers to another. Then pick The Undertaker and Gail Kim for the particular roles, adjust their emotions, and add some dialogue with the controller or a USB keyboard. After the cutscene, add a Royal Rumble-style match with the win condition stating that The Undertaker must remain in the ring. Tack on the car explosion cutscene, adjust The Undertaker's physical damage for the next match, and set up the Referee to run in on a two vs. one brawl. And so on and so forth.
After creating your masterpiece, you can upload your design for other gamers to download, along with your personal Superstars, Finishers and Highlight Reels. With user-friendly search tags and a five-star rating system, this section is guaranteed to be stock-piled with lots of innovative content.
Word of warning: Some of the cutscenes are gender-restrictive. While the Superstars and Divas can interact on a civil level, they generally aren't allowed in the more aggressive scenes with one another. Divas also cannot appear in the car scenes. Durr explained that the designers wanted to maintain the integrity of the WWE story lines, but that doesn't stop me from wanting to run over Mickie James with a sedan.
