Battlefield 1943 – The 1,000 pixel stare

Most of the time, if a game provides foliage it’s just kind of there for you to look at and offers very little ACTUAL cover. Not here. As a sniper, I’ve used bushes and wooded areas to rain my particular brand of death down onto many an enemy. When any weapon is fired, whether you can be seen by an enemy or not, you show up for a moment on the radar – this is the bane of the sniper, but makes the hiding place very important. Terrain makes a difference, which is more than you can say for many other shooters.

So, in the end, what’s not to like about Battlefield 1943? Of course, if you don’t like multiplayer only games, give this one a pass. Otherwise, I can’t suggest this game enough. I’ve seen flying tanks and exploding palm trees, shot a man to death from my hiding place in a bush and lived to tell the tale. Well, I lived roughly 14.2 seconds longer to tell the tale, but longer none the less! Some of the best 15 bucks I ever spent.
