THQ to Acquire Big Huge Games
Ken Ralston comes along for the ride...

THQ announced that it will acquire Big Huge Games, the studio founded by Brian Reynolds, Jason Coleman, Dave Inscore and Tim Train in 2000. The studio is best known for collectively creating such hits as Rise of Nations, Alpha Centauri, and Civilization II. With this acquisition THQ also picks up the services of Ken Rolston, best known for his work on such hit RPG's as Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

Big Huge Games is developing an RPG title for THQ for the Xbox 360, PLAYSTATION 3 and Windows PC. The acquisition is expected to close shortly, with Big Huge Games becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of THQ. The 100 person studio is located in Timonium, Maryland.
