Yo, yo, NBA Street Vol. 2 for PlayStation 2, Xbox and GameCube, by Electronic Arts is off da hook, most def, like the previous NBA Street was in 2001. Sim fans took to that one like free beer. Instead of being realistic, it was street-style ballistic and way over the top of anything else in the category. Instantly, players became addicted to the fast action and cool moves. This month, EA scores with NBA Street Vol. 2, developed by NuFX, and it's super-sized., with more features, more ballers and three game modes that let your imagination run wild to do anything you ever wanted to on a basketball court. Ain't no rules, y'all--this is street. Word!

NBA Street Vol. 2 delivers adrenalin-pumping game play but with improvements over the original that allow you to set up games the way you want in Pick-Up Game mode. By using the My Rules feature you can select Dunks Only, Trick Challenge, or Old School Rules for pure street action including "off the heezay" shots where you bounce the ball off an opponent's head into the basket. Next, there's NBA Challenge where you play against the stars of the NBA solo or with a partner (up to 4 people can play in at once). The objective is to beat all 29 NBA teams grouped into regions of the U.S. In each region you'll ultimately have to defeat champion teams of NBA legends with superstars like Wilt Chamberlain, Magic Johnson, and Larry Bird. Finally, there's Be a Legend mode where you create a baller from scratch, choosing body, face, clothes and a few other attributes. Then you pick a team from a set group of street players. Competing against different street teams you rack up reputation points in your quest to become biggest, baddest street legend.

NBA Street Vol. 2 improves on its predecessor by delivering more of everything from excellent game play to customization of rules and challenges to145 current NBA stars and 25 legendary superstars to play with. The unique and stylized graphics look good and the 15 courts you can choose from are highly detailed right down to the cracks in the black top. Animation for every player is scripted for hundreds of movements with simple, logical controls so it's easy to get immersed in the action right away. NBA Street really lets you get your game on. Check it out.
