Game Details:

FINAL FANTASY X-2 marks the first sequel in the famed series, which has sold over 45 million units worldwide. FINAL FANTASY X released in 2001 and was a mega hit with sales topping 5.5 million. The game garnered numerous awards, winning gamers and media over with its gripping story, stunning graphics and stirring music. In January 2002, FINAL FANTASY X INTERNATIONAL, an enhanced version of the North America version was released in Japan. This adaptation incorporated several new features as well as a bonus DVD. The bonus disc featured a music video for the theme song, interviews with the voice cast from the English and Japanese versions, a collection of previews and promotional media, and a new 12-minute story titled which continued the story in FINAL FANTASY X. Titled "The Eternal Calm," the story left fans yearning for more. In response to their pleas, the story has been continued in FINAL FANTASY X-2. Taking place two years after Yuna's fateful journey to defeat Sin, the once chaotic world of Spira has gone through a massive transformation, entering a period of "Eternal Calm". The people of Spira now shun the teachings of Yevon and have opened their arms to former foes, the Al Bhed and the use of "machina". The Machine Faction aims to propagate the use of machina in Spira, going as far as renaming "machina" to "machines" to remove the stigma. However, even with the peaceful life they now lived, there is emptiness in Yuna's heart that is keeping her from moving on as the others have.

One day, Yuna obtains a mystical sphere that contains imagery of what might be the Blitzball player she thought was gone forever. Although Yuna isn't certain that it is him, she's driven to seek him out and get closure to their unexpected parting, even if only to find that she will never see him again. So begins her journey. While FINAL FANTASY X-2 is a sequel it is in many ways a new game. With the first all-female cast of playable characters and several new elements added to enhance gameplay, FINAL FANTASY X-2 keeps true to the series tradition, while advancing gaming to new levels.
