Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath Preview
A closer look at Lorne Lanning and Oddworld Inhabitants' latest game in the popular and weird series.
Date: Friday, January 14, 2005

The game features the usual wacky and wild Oddworld flavored world, one button gamespeak to get clues on your current objectives, light NPC interaction, and weird and wild characters with several lines of dialogue you can squeeze out of them by talking to them multiple times. There are some other interesting interface features worth noting; stamina which can be used to restore health is shown as a background color on your life bar; radar on your map turns red when enemies sense a presence (but haven't quite figured out where that presence is); and when switching ammo the game does pause so you don't take a savage real-time beating.

And that's the gist of Oddworld Inhabitants' and Lorne Lannings' latest game. With the game heading to retail on or about January 25th, fans of the series should really hit the internet and bone up on all this game has to offer(you can believe the hype for the most part - because it's true). We're optimistic that this game may very well be the best Oddworld title to date just because it's so different from the rest of the pack. The only thing we can't understand is why Microsoft signed off on publishing this game - we have no problem understanding why Electronic Arts picked it up. We'll have more on this game after its release later this month - stay tuned!
