It should go without saying that Far Cry 2 is astoundingly gorgeous even in this early pre-alpha state. Factor in the realistic physics and advance rendering systems used for fire and weapons, and the game is truly amazing to behold. Running it could be problematic for low-end users, though, as Hocking stated that at minimum you'll need a blazing-fast single core processor and at least a middle-of-the-road to high-end graphics card. Obviously, Support for DirectX 10 is planned for those with rigs configured with Windows Vista.

Ubisoft is targeting a March release for the game, which isn't that far off, even if that target is a bit ambitious. Reconfigure your holiday wish lists kids because you're going to want to upgrade you computer for Far Cry 2. The game simply shows enormous potential and we can't wait to get another look as it continues its development.
