There are some preview kinks that need to be worked out. The game doesn’t look bad but it wasn't uncommon for the game to stutter whenever too many units crowded the screen. While some of the special effects added flair such as glowing magma and fanciful particle effects for spells, the graphics looked serviceable. The art direction is pure Warhammer, though, which fans will appreciate--but the engine still needs some fine tuning.
It sounds like we’re being a bit rough on the game since it won’t hit shelves until September but the truth is, all of the new features and campaigns and playable races will not save the game from a frustrating control system. The real hope for Warhammer fans is that the basic control method lessens the frustration. If so, then Battle March might be a worthy game; if not, well, the list of failed console RTS games is long and varied. We'll see where Battle March fits in a few months.
