While editing and creating your own levels is definitely a huge draw, it’s the smaller, quirky features that also make it appealing. Sackboy and Sackgirl are too cute for words, and people will have fun in customizing them. One of the journalist’s Sackboys looked like a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, while mine was all black but with neon blue designs on his body. There’s also a feature in which you can use the EyeToy to take a picture of yourself or someone else, then put it up on the “Wall of Awesome”.
LittleBigPlanet shows a lot of promise. It’s the kind of game that will put a smile on your face. It’s unique, the characters are achingly cute, and I can only imagine the kinds of challenging and fun levels people will design. I expect to start seeing samples of them on YouTube within weeks of the game’s release -- which is right around the corner in October.
