While playing, I noticed that you have to make your movements a little more exaggerated for the Eye to register your movements accurately. For example, during the blowfish mini-game I had to stab quite forcefully in the Z-direction, and when drawing a large circle I had to actually move my arm wide enough draw the circle. This is in contrast to the Wii, in which you can often cheat a little by flicking your wrists quickly or waggling the controller.
The Move comes with a sub-controller, which is similar to the Wii nunchuck as a supplementary controller, though unlike its counterpart the sub-controller doesn’t have a motion sensor. There’s also no tether between the two controls, which means no more tangled wires. Move Party didn’t require the sub-controller so I can’t really report on its use.
Move Party is just one of several PSMove-ready games that will be coming out when the device hits the shelves this fall. Some pre-existing titles are also expected to be revamped to work with the PSMove, such as the aforementioned SOCOM 4, LittleBigPlanet, and Tiger Woods 2010. Let the battle of the motion controllers begin!
