The Beginning

There are a few things that you should know before playing this game. The first thing is just about everyone will not be able to finish this game the first time through. You have to assume that if a game gives you the option to "give up" on the items menu then it is there for a reason. When or if you do restart, your inventory will be reduced to the starting default, but your weapons, skills and items locker will remain intact. Another thing to keep in mind is to always keep an eye on your map in the bottom right hand corner. It is a lot more useful then most people realize.

As for the location/type of monsters and items that boxes contain change from game to game. I noticed most of the enemies in this guide remained the same a few times through the game, but there were a few instances where a different monster appeared in a different place. The same goes for what each box contained. Zennie and party experience amounts changed from game to game as did what some boxes held inside.

D-Ratio Doors

There are also many D-Ratio doors through out the game. These doors are locked until you complete the game once and get a higher D Rating. I did not include what is inside these rooms in this walkthrough. Most of the D-Ratio doors conceal or single room or a small area with a few rooms and or multiple levels. Since you need to have already completed the game at least once to access these doors, it's pretty safe to assume that you will know what to do when you get there.

Walkthrough

Ranger HQ

You start in a locker room with a door next to you. Walk out the doorway; go to the right and up the stairs. To your left will be a guard standing in front of a door. Go to your right and keep going around the corner. Make your way down the stairs into the cafeteria and talk to Bosch who is standing at the far end of the room. When you do you will go inside Capt. Zeno's office for a cut scene and a little briefing and the start of the games story. When you have left the office make your way back to the top of the stairs to the door that the guard was standing in front of. Walk down the stairs and you will be in the Low Sector Junction. Here you can save your game at the pay phone looking Telecorder and head to the left of the screen to enter the Low Sector Borough, or continue on your mission and go to the right of the screen to enter the Low Sector Lift port. Run into Bosch and he will join up with you. Now the game really begins

Lift to Bio Corp 1

Head down the little staircase and into the tunnel way on the left side to enter Bio Corp 1. These tunnels are pretty straight forward and contain a few monsters. Nothing really tough for now, but the Dukes found here can be a little annoying at times. When you enter the tunnels there will be a passage to your left. Head straight for now and you can go up the stairs into the room on the right. After you do that, backtrack your way to the passage way on the left and deal with the two Dukes in there. Continue ahead through the large door.

Kill the 3 nuggets here and you will get a treasure key for the blue treasure box that is found farther down this tunnel. Use the key on it and get the "steal" skill for RYU. Equip it on his shield as this is one of the most useful skills in the entire game. Slice open the white box to the right and get ready to deal with 2 dukes and their Leader here. After you wipe them out, you will see a door and 4 white boxes on the platform. Don't grab them yet. Head through the large door at the end of the tunnel with the green light above it and continue along the tracks until you come to a yellow box. Smashy Smashy and grab a much needed Save Token. Now head back to where the door and the 4 white boxes where on the platform. Crack them open and head into the doorway. Inside this room will be an elevator and a girl with a really creepy looking puppet. She will offer you some advice when you talk to her. After you are done chit chatting, hop on the elevator.

Lift to Bio Corp 2

Head down the hallway, past the dead dukes that have fly's buzzing around them and out onto the train platform. Bouncing around in front of a blue treasure box will be a Goo Element. This guy is pretty nasty to deal with early on so you may want to avoid him all together. If you do defeat him however, you will get a ???? item and the treasure key to get the Ryu skill "SideSlash" that is inside. With the Side Slash skill, you can combine it with Vertical Slash to make "X Slash". Head down the tunnel taking out the two white boxes and go through the large door. Run across the tracks until you come to another large door and the girl with the creepy puppet. She will teach you about skills and how to use and equip them. Once you go through the door, run up the set of stairs to the platform and go in the door. Run down the hallway, out the door, right a little and into another door where there will be an elevator.

Lift to Bio Corp 3

When you exit the elevator room you will come to a large platform and A LOT of bats. There are about 6 Lillantern Bats and one large Lantern Bat. You do not want to get into a battle with more than 3 of them at once and you want to fight the large bat alone. Use your fresh meat or dynamite to distract them and pick them off one by one. They are easy enough on their own and are worth taking out for the experience, but when they gang up on you, you are in trouble. After you have had your fill of bats, continue up the tunnel through the large doors.

Keep going until you come to a white breakable box. There will be a passage to the left and a Mama Nugget ahead of you. If you head straight to take on the Mama Nugget, make sure you fight it alone and not with the other little regular nuggets joining in. When the Mama Nugget and the little nuggets are defeated you can grab some experience from the yellow box that was past her. Head back to where the left passage was and watch out as the Hychee's fall from the ceiling. These nasty little worms are super easy to kill and give heath as a reward. Kill them all, grab the health and high tail it down the tunnel.

Keep going until you come to the first door on your left. When you enter it, you will across the tracks and enter a "Danger Room". These Danger Rooms can be a pain in the ass when you least expect them. They lock all entrances and exits until every creature in the room is defeated. There are 2 Duke Leaders, one in each section of the room and about 4 dukes on each side as well. After they are beat you will get a treasure key for the box in the right side tunnel. It holds the "Kick" skill for Ryu. Head up the stairs through the door. In here will be the girl again talking about how to set up your controls. Keep going down the hallways of many doors until you come to the elevator.

Approach South

Run down the hallway to the orange door and a cut scene will start playing about the Dragon Odjin. When you regain control again, head through the same door again.

Genetic Processor

Run through the room you saw in your vision. Stop to ooh and ahh at the dragon corpse and continue through the door on the left. There is a stair case on the right where you can go down and run around the ground. On the second time through the game you can grab the Dragon Blade +2 from down here.

Approach West

Run down the hallway and around the corner to meet the puppet girl again. She offers advice on how to retreat in battle and the different ways of doing it. Head through the doorway and into the elevator.

Genetic Accumulator

As you start down the hallway you finally run into a telecorder to save your progress on. Do so and continue down the hall. Go around the corner and into the first door way on your left. Inside will be a beat up room with a door on the left wall. Go through it into a room with many creatures in cages. Don't worry they can't get you. I crept around this room waiting for them to jump out at me but they never did. I think they were laughing at me. Follow the room around to the North east corner where there are 4 Hychees gathered and an Odd Hychee on the ceiling. Take them out, collect your health kits and nail the white box here for a mega aid kit.

Make your way through the door on the north wall and keep going through this room into the next room with some Nuggets in cages. Keep going out the door and into the hallway. At the end of it you will run into Jaju who will identify any ???? weapons and armor you have. Exit through this door and you will enter the Lift Port. Here a cut scene starts as you and Bosch jump on the train that you were assigned to protect. It is a rather long cut scene and adds much more to the story so sit back and enjoy.

Old Waste Shaft 1F

After the train crash, you no longer have Bosch with you in your party. There is a doozy of a fight coming up that will make you wish he was though. Walk to the door ahead of you saving on the telecorder if you wish. You will want to stock up on health aids here if you don't have many. Enter through the door way into a room with a blue treasure chest. Keep going past this room into the next for the show down with the Cyclops.
