Amusement Park

As you begin the game you find yourself in an amusement park that seems to be anything but amusing. Head forward and to the right (Heathers left) to a large wooden double door beside a park bench. Enter here and make your way to the right along the passage. In here will be a dog known as a Double Head that will try to take some bites out of you. A few shots with the gun will take him out rather quickly. Follow the passage along and you will pass some doors. There will be a door that you come to with a sign outside saying it is The Gift Shop. You can enter here and walk around inside. When you come back out, keep heading in the direction you were going until the view changes and there is a sign on the wall next to a door that says "Mountain Coaster".

Enter the door and on the other side will be a big monster known as a Closer. Run around him and go directly to the opposite side of where you entered to the small metal gate. Go through it and head directly to your right (Heathers left). Be quick about it though as there are two flying bugs called Pendulums and one Double Head running around in here. Head up the stair case to the small booth at the top. Go through the gate to the left of the booth and follow the tracks until a cut scene plays. Of course if you wanted to take the easy way through this first level, you could just let the creatures kill you and you would wake up at the start of the next level in the diner.

Shopping Mall

When you awaken in the diner, heather makes her way out of the restaurant and to the payphones where she calls her dad. After a short discussion, she continues on her way until a detective stops her and tries to take her to meet someone. Heather high tails it to the washroom while the detective stays outside. Now that you can control Heather again, you can save your game at the red circle on the mirror here. These are your save points through out the game. Check out the bathroom and you can knock on the last stall there where someone will mumble to you. Climb out the window since she won't go through the door.

When you are in the alley outside, head to the right and continue down the long path to a door that you eventually reach. If you head all the way to the end, you come to a van that is blocking the alley and you will need to return back to the door. Enter it and you will be in the employee hallways of the mall. Head straight and make a right at the first turn. Follow the hallway around until you come to the double doors at the end. When you exit through them, you will be back in the mall although it looks a little different this time around. Head to the left and continue down the hall until you come to a store that has a shutter half way down its front door. [1] Enter the store and a cut scene will play. After the scene you now have a gun added to your arsenal. Grab the ammo off the shelf across from the dressing rooms and exit through the door behind the counter.

Make your way down the hallway and make the first left turn. There will be a door labeled "exit" and a billboard across from the elevator. Grab the map off the billboard and you now have a view of the entire mall. [2] Exit through the door labeled exit and head up the stairs. Go through the door at the top and you will be in another set of hallways. Make a left and around the corner will be a Numb Body. These weird fellows have no arms and have a long shaped heads. A few shots from the handgun will take him down easily enough. [3] Make your way down the corridor where he came from and exit through the door at the end of the hallway to enter a circular area in the mall.

Out here will be two Closers walking around. They are easy enough to just run around and not worry about fighting. Head south and enter the bakery. [4] Inside there will be a set of Tongs on the left of the entrance. Pick them up and make your way back out and around the circular area to the door you came through. Go through and follow the corridor to the end and head left. Walk down the hallway and enter the second on the right. [5] In here will be a Double Head for you to kill. Shoot him a few times and grab the beef jerky from the stack of boxes. Exit the room and continue along the hallway down two more doors on the right. [6] Enter the room here and on the far side of the room will be key under a wooden skid.

Use the tongs you got from the bakery and you will be able to reach the key. Examine the key and it will say "My Best Sellers" on it. On the shelves beside the save point will be 2 health bottles and a box of ammo. Save your game and head back out to the circular area of the mall with the two Closers walking around. On your way back to that area will be two more Numb Bodies that appear in the hallway. Enter the circular area and head to the left to get to the bookstore named "My Bestsellers". [7] When you go to enter the door, Heather will use the key you picked up with the tongs and will enter.

Walk along the right side of the store and you will find a pile of books on the ground there. Pick up the five books and you will need to place them back on the shelf right beside where there were on the ground. When you put them on the shelf, they have writing on the side of them that will make up the 4 digit code for the door at the other side of the store. The order of the books is random, so play around with the order that you place them in and you will get the answer eventually. For me the order of books was IV, V, I, II, III and the code was 2380. Once you have the correct order and the code, go to the keypad beside the door and enter the code. Go through the door and a scene will play of a conversation between Claudia and Heather.

After Claudia leaves, Heather wakes up in the hallway outside the bookstore door. Make your way to the left and follow the hallway to an elevator. [8] Enter it and it will start to move downwards. When it stops a radio will fall from the ceiling of the elevator. Pick it up and through out the game, when you hear static increase it means a monster is near. When the doors open, exit the elevator [8] and watch out for the 3 Double Heads wandering around there. By following the map head down the hallway going south and then west. Enter the door at the end of the hall there to find a Save Point on a bed [9] . Grab the Ampoule on the right side of the room and some health bottles as well. Exit the room and make your way north and exit to the store part of the mall. Head to the right and then make a quick left to head north. Watch out for the two Closers that are walking around this area. Follow the hallway around to the right and enter the first door on the left.

In here will be a lighted room [10] with ammo and health on the shelves and a flashlight in the stack of green boxes. Grab the goods and make your way next door to the women's washroom. If you didn't see the flashlight, you could switch off the light and you would see a beam of light emitting from it. [11] Grab the bleach off the counter and head back out to the hallway. Keep going all the way to the end and exit through the half opened shutter. Now you are back where you were at the beginning of the game. In this corridor will be a Closer and a Double head running around. Enter the clothing store through the half closed shutter again and grab the bullet proof vest off the cloth rack at the far side of the room. [1] On your way out of the room grab the hanger of the empty rack beside the door.

Head back into the main hallway and duck back through the bent shutter into the first corridor. Follow the passage along back to where you first entered the store area of the mall. To the west and directly across from where you entered is the diner where Heather woke up. [12] Enter in here and you will see a ladder. Walk under it so that the view changes. Heather will make a comment about not being able to reach it, but since you are crafty, use the hanger and she will use it as a hook to pull down the ladder. Climb up it and you will now be back on the second floor [13] . Spin around to the right and make your way along south towards a set of escalators and a TV screen.

Walk up to the TV screen and you will see a flash of a somewhat disturbing image and a voice. Around the corner there is another TV that has a red save point on the screen. Save your game and back track your way up the escalators. At the top of them head into the doorway on the right [15] . In here is a restaurant with a barbequed dog on a table. Take a look at it and you will get a "cooked key" from its stomach. Grab some health from the shelves and make your way back out. Take a look at the large door to your right and see that it has a red crescent on it. [16] You will be coming back here shortly, so remember where it is.

Make your way back down and past the TV sets and enter the first door on the left. [17] Inside the room, grab the walnut from the table and exit the door on the opposite end of the room. Follow the corridor around to left and make a right at the first turn. Watch out for the Closers that are walking up and down this hallway. Keep going down the hall and make another right until you come to the end of the hall where you will use the cooked key to open the door here [18] . When you go through, you will enter into a kitchen/dining room. Make your way around the counter snagging the health items and the steel pipe in the corner where there is steam coming from another pipe. Continue through the room and exit by the large double doors. Make your way to the right and take out the Numb Body walking up to you there. After he is toast, keep heading to the right and enter the bakery again [4] . This time there is detergent on the counter and another door at the other side of the room.

Go through the green door and head to the left. Follow the hallway until you come to a large fan on the wall ahead of you [19] . On the left side will be another green door. If you go through the door here, you will come to a swarm of bugs at the end of the hallway that is impassible. Head back out to where the fan was and flip the switch under it. The fan will shut off and you need to enter the green door on the left again. Stand near the small garbage can beside the door and combine the detergent and bleach together. Heather will mix them in the garbage can and then head out the door. Turn the fan back on and the gas will have killed all the bugs in the hallway.

Continue along the hallway around the two corners and finally enter the second door on the right. Inside will be some beef jerky and three boxes of ammo. [20] Head back out and keep going up the hallway. When you get to the end make a right and enter the door on the north wall. Kill the two Numb Bodies in here and go through the double doors on the opposite side of the room. When you exit you will be back out in the store part of the mall. Make your way to the left over to the far side. [21] Enter the double doors on the north wall and walk over to the vise on one of the beds. Use the walnut on it and it will reveal a Moonstone. There is a save point on the wall in this room so save your game and make your way back out side.

Continue going west and you will come to orange door. When you go through it, you will unlock it first and then go through the second time. Make your way around the circular area, back over to the door on the far side [7] . Follow the corridor along back to the room [17] and through to the hallway with the TV sets. Save your game again on the TV set and head up the escalator. Make your way to the door with the red crescent on it. Use the moonstone to open it and continue through. Walk around the gap in the centre of the floor until you come to a narrow walkway that leads to the centre of it. [22] Climb down the ladder and get ready for a fight with a big baddie.

Boss: Split Worm

Depending on what difficulty you are playing will determine how hard the Splitworm is to kill but since this walkthrough is assuming you are on Normal he really isn't all that difficult to kill. When you get to the bottom of the ladder a scene plays out and the Splitworm pops out to say hello. When you are back in control watch the wall and the openings there where the worm pops out. When he does appear, start firing at him with your gun. Most times he will need to appear twice before finish him off for good, but if you can start firing at him early enough you can take him out the first time he appears. When you have hit him enough times, it will writhe and squirm and the screen will fade to white.

Shopping Mall

Heather now finds herself back in the mall and all seems normal. Head straight and through the half open shutter. Duck under it and keep going down the hall until you reach a set of double glass doors. Go through those and another scene starts between Heather and Douglas. After you make it through the horrible voice acting, Heather will make her way to the subway.

Subway

Follow the corridor to a small grey door and go through it to a large area. When you enter the large room, make a left and you will come to some turn stiles on the left along with a ticket booth [1] . Before you go there, head to the far side of the room where there will be 4 green ticket machines [2] . The third machine will have a newspaper on top of it. If you read it, it will be a story of a guy who was killed by a train sometime ago. Make your way back to the turnstiles and head through the open space between the first turnstile and the ticket booth. When you have passed through, grab the map to the right on the back of the ticket booth.

Now that you have the map, you can see that there are 3 sets of stairs in this main area. One at the north, one at the south and one over to the east. Make your way down to the south set [6] and you will be on a lower concourse. Around the corner from where you go down the stairs will be a save point on the wall glowing rather brightly. Save your game here and then head back around the corner and down the set of stairs there. [3] As you walk down the next set of stairs there, there is a magazine on the floor. [4] If you read it, it will be about people who have suddenly died and how they may still inhabit those place. It kind of makes the newspaper story sink in now. As you continue down the stairs to the subway platform [5] a scene will start and Heather will be pushed onto the subway tracks. You need to face the yellow strip and climb out quickly before the subway comes running through the station.
