Colossus 8
Location: G6
Type: Quadruped
Definitely not a fan of this colossus. When you reach the building it is located in, follow the stairs down until you come to an area that has the floor and walls cracked away. From here, you should be able to look down and see the beast crawling around below. Fire some arrows down at it to get its attention and it will start to climb the walls to get you. Now run along the corridor to the next opening that will be across from where you just were. When the beast is on the wall looking for you, fire an arrow into two of his paws where the white light is. He won’t be able to hang onto the wall and he will fall to the ground and land on his back. Quickly jump over the edge and land on the ground. If you try to take the stairs down, it will take too long to get to.
When you hit the ground, run over to it and run up its belly. Stab the symbol there a few times and another will appear a little higher on its belly. The beast will start to roll over before you get another chance, so run for the stairs and head back up to the broken floor and walls. When you get there, toss a few more arrows and repeat the same process to get him on his back again. A few more stabs and he will bite it. For this boss you do need to be careful. He has a nasty attack that fires bolts at you and they linger around to create a large yellow cloud that damages you greatly if you are caught in it. He can also swipe at you when you are running away from him that does a significant amount of damage as well.
Colossus 9
Location: D3
Type: Quadruped
As you reach the cave, the colossus will come out and enter the field. Spread out along the field are a bunch of geysers that spray into the air. What you need to do is lure the colossus out to the field and have him stand over a geyser. It is kind of hard to get the beast positioned correctly on the geyser since he doesn’t like to move much and he has a nasty attack that he fires at you. The best way I found was, to have him chase you to a geyser and he will usually stop there just before it. When he starts his attacks, dive backwards to avoid them and to distance yourself from him. He will then start moving towards you again slowly and will be over the geyser.
If he hits you too many times, he will really put a hurting on you, but you can run under him to hide and to let your health regenerate until you are ready to attack him again. When he is in position, the geyser will shoot up under him and lift him up leaving him resting on one leg. Now you need to run under him and shoot him in the foot where the bright light is. Once you do that, he will topple over and land on his side. Run around to the other side and quickly climb up the ledge and pull up to the hair. Scurry up to the ledge at the top and hang on as the beast rights itself and stands back on his feet. Once it is back moving, you will be on top of it and need to make your way up to its head. Move slowly until it is calm and then make a dash for it to get there and grab his hair. Give it some jabs with the sword and the beast will topple for good.
Colossus 10
Location: B4
Type: Underground
Once you reach the cave that this snake like colossus dwells in, you in for a different type of battle than you have yet done. For this battle you will need to be on Argo for the majority of the fight. The only time you won’t be, is to stab the vital symbols. Once the cut scene is over, jump on Agro and start running. Use L1 to locate where the colossus is and make sure you keep it behind you. If you run an intersecting path to it, it will steam roll you right off your horse and give you some hefty damage. Have the colossus follow you and you will probably need to slow down a bit. You want it right behind you so that its head pops up out of the sand a little. If you go too fast, it won’t and if you go to slow, it will run you over.
Use L1 while riding so you can watch where the snake is and have Agro stick to the sides of the cave running in circles so you don’t have to worry about him running into rocks. When the snake is close enough behind you, will see it’s head pop up and its two very large orange eyes appear. Use your bow and fire an arrow into one of the eyes. When you nail it, it will careen off and slam into the wall in front of it however far away it is. If it’s close, jump off Agro and go to it. If it’s some distance away, ride over and then jump off and start to climb up the back of the beast. The first symbol will appear with your sword in hand, just a bit up its back. Stab it a few times and the next symbol will appear. By this time, the snake will regain consciousness and start attacking again. Jump on Agro and repeat the same process of shooting it in the eye. When it crashes into the wall again, jump on it’s back and run to the second vitality symbol that is higher up is back and get to stabbing. Once you hit it enough times before it rolls over again, it will die.
Colossus 11
Location: F1
Type: Small Quadruped
Once you enter the passage that leads to the colossus, jump and grab the ledge on the right and climb up. Turn around and jump over to the other side and the colossus will enter. In the room will be 4 torches on top of pedestals. Go to the closest pedestal on the left and climb up the side of it. When the colossus charges and hits it, a stick will fly out of it and land on the ground. Jump down when the coast is clear and press the circle button to pick it up. Now you’ll need to climb back up to a torch and use the stick in the fire. When it is lit, jump back down and the colossus will back up when you swipe with it.
Back him up until he reaches the far end, opposite end of where you entered from. When the colossus reaches it, he will fall off the edge and his shell will break on the ground. Now there are two things you can do. You can either try to jump down and land on top of him and attack him or you can run back on top of one of the pedestals and wait for him to come back into the room. If you jump down and miss, he will chase you the whole way back into the room again so you may be better off just waiting. When you are on the pedestal and the beast comes back in, get his attention and he will charge the pedestal. Crouch to stay on it and then jump off and land on his back when he bounces off. Once you are on him, grab a hold and start stabbing until it dies.
Colossus 12
Location G2
Type: Amphibious
This is probably the hardest colossus to find. When you come out of the forest, follow the path to the left and you will come to a wall of pillars. Jump and grab the far right one and shimmy around to the other side. Jump down into the water and swim over to the first flat stone that you can reach. Climb on it and the scene will play showing you the beast rise out of the water. This boss can be a little tricky to beat. Hide behind the center structure on the flat stone and wait for it to fire its blast at you. When it does, it will get annoyed and climb up on the platform. Jump off after its blast and swim around to the back of it. Climb up the back of it until you reach its head. On top of its head, there will be three large stones, one in the front and one to each side. You will use these stones to direct the path of the beast.
Bang your sword on one of the stones in the direction you want to go and direct him towards one of the stone structures spread around the area. Once the beast is close to it, jump off the head and land on the top of the platform. Hide behind the center piece that is protruding up and wait for it to fire and get annoyed at you. When it does, it will rise up and put its legs on the roof. Run around the front and jump off to grab the hair on the chest of it. Stab it as many times as you can before it dunks under the water again. Once it does, you will need to swim around the back and climb up again to reach its head. Direct it to another stone structure if it destroyed the one you were on and repeat the same pattern by hiding behind the center and waiting for it to rise up. Once you have jumped on its chest and driven your sword into it enough times, it will stay in the water for good.
