Dagon Palace

Head forward and save at the save point and then have a chat with the security guards. Once done. Enter the castle and head up the stairs. Continue up and around to the elevator and to the throne room. Talk to Otohime and she will tell you what you nee to do to break the barrier on Oni Island. Take the Shell Amulet and head back down the elevator and stairs to the Water Dragon Garden to the right of the entrance. Enter the garden and pop the chest to the right. When you are ready, jump into the hole in the center and enter the dragon’s mouth.

Inside the Water Dragon

Head forward and keep to the left path. When you get to the end, jump off t he cliff and into the water and continue going forward. Grab the key from the platform below and pick it up. Turn back and continue to the left side and use the water spout brush to get to the top of the ledge, the opposite side of where you were. Continue to the save point and past it and up the ledge at the end. Use the arrow key on the eye lock and go through to the large room there. You will see the dragon orb in the center of the room surrounded by tentacles. Ignore it for now and go down the side tunnel. In here you will see a tumor of sorts on the ceiling that is dripping blood. Use the water brush to hit it with the water in the room and it will eventually bust open and flood the room.

Why couldn’t a simple slash work? I dunno. Use the lily pads to get back to the room with the orb and then land on the landing in the center of the room. Use the water brush again to hit the tentacles around the orb and it will come free after a few hits. Once it is free, Issun will scream about foxfire and you will get attacked. Kill the 9 creatures that attack you and then you will receive the Fox Rods. Once you have them, another scene will play and you will have 2 minutes to get out of the dragon. Watch the arrow to know where to go and watch the shadows on the ground to not get hit with falling blood. Once you get out, another long scene will play. Once that scene plays, another and another will play and then you will need to return the orb to Otohime. Once you go and talk to her, you will need to rush out of there and go to the priestess at Ankoku Temple.

Ryoshima Coast

Head back across the beach to Akoku temple that is all the way on the other side, across from the moon tower. When you reach it, Rao will appear as a ghost. Follow her each time she appears and then go though the wall she does. Once inside the cave, jump down the well and go through the tunnel. You will come out at Himiko’s Palace. Head forward and enter and ride the elevator up. Go through the lava and gates and enter the throne room. After another long conversation, a battle with Rao will begin. Just use bombs and regular attacks until she turns brown and then use regular slashes. Once she is down, sit around for another very long scene. Now you will need to head back to Ryoshima Coast and to the Watcher’s Cape. When you reach it, Otohime will appear and help you across to Oni Island.

Oni Island

Once on the island, use the water spout brush on the fire pool and rise up to the next platform. Hop down into the lake below and head to the left. Go from rock to rock to reach the fire spout on the far side. Ride it up and head across the walkway and you will come to battle two large Ogres. Use the mist brush and slash their sides until their masks fall off. Once they do, you can take them out easily. Enter the large door they were guarding and go through. Save at the save point and head down the hall on the left. Kill the poltergeist in there and grab the arrow key. Head back to the save point and use the key on the eye lock there. Head through and down the stairs to talk to Tobi.

The Labyrinth of Torment

For this part, you will need to compete against Tobi in a series of little races. The first will just be to get to the gate first. The second is across platforms and the third is as well. The fourth will have you running through giant wheels and then the last of this section will be a battle you need to win before Tobi gets to the door. Use mist and bombs to kill the three enemies quick and then head for the door once the victory screen appears. After you get through, save and then follow through the hallway and outside. Grab the arrow key from the roof and head back down to the eye lock. Head through and you will eventually come to a large statue. Draw an arrow on its bow and a scene will play. Now you will have the lightning brush. Whenever you see those odd shaped green statues, use the lightning on them to activate something. Use it on the one at the door to go through and then on the one at the far side. The bridge will turn and you can stop it by power slashing it. Hop across to the far side and enter the door there and use a bomb on the crack. Fall through the hole and jump through the screen to find the electrical key. Head back out of the room and zip up to the flowers and to the door there. Use the spark to draw a line to the door and go through. In the next room, take out the enemy and continue through. Head through the next door and you will come back out to the beginning of the maze.

Save at the well and then use the key on the bulb in the center. Open the chests with the lightning and head to the end of the hall way that opened to the statue. Use the spark orb at the top right on the statues sword and it will vanish. Head down the stairs and you will enter a room with eye security statues. Slash all the eyes, including the one behind you and the lava will exit the room and the door will open. Go through and you will come to a second labyrinth. Thankfully this one is a lot easier and is a side scroller to get through. You’ll need to make your way to the top to get the sparky key and then back down to the key hole and through the door it opens. Once you get through, save at the well and enter the next room. Go to the left and grab the sparky key and head up the stairs and across the platforms. Make your way to the end and then drop the key to fall through. Open the chest there and grab the arrow key.

Slash the scroll on the wall and blow up the crack. Head through the hole and continue through the room to the eye lock. Use the key and head up the stairs and you’ll have another race with Tobi. Beat him up the stairs and you will come to a room with storm clouds and need to fight the two stone face enemies again. Take them out and enter the next room which will have a pool of purple goodness. Go through the far doors and jump diagonally to the ledge and continue. In the next room will be a set of spikes on the wall and a pool below. Draw a line from the cat statue down and along the wall and jump to it. Jump up and over to the ledge above and drop down. Go past the spiders and enter the next room to face a few more enemies. After that, head up the stairs and find Tobi once more. Before you race him, hop up on the ledge above you and go to the far side and blow up the crack in the wall. Return to Tobi and then start the race. Hop up on the ledge again and cross the room. Drop down and use the flower to zip across the gap and through the door. Once you win, watch the scene and head up the stairs at the rear to find a constellation and the big bad boss.

Ninetails

Nine Tails is pretty impressive when she first appears. It is the body of a fox with nine tails that are brushes. For the first part of the battle you will need to avoid her rushes and advances by running and jumping. Wait until she pulls out her sword and then use the Thunderstorm brush to draw a line from the lightning in the sky to the sword. When it hits, the tails will detach from her body and you will need to fight them all. Use power slash against them and try to gather as many tails in one slash as you can. See if you can get all the tails to come after you and then, nail them all repeatedly with slashes over and over. Once you have defeated all the tails, you will need to defeat ninetails herself. She will run back and forth charging at you and the only thing you can really do is jump out of the way and stay out of her path. When she pulls out the sword again, you can use the lightning to stun her as well, every once in a awhile when she charges, she will get tired and stay stunned facing the wall for a while. Slash her then as well and eventually she will drop leaving you with a present in the form of the Blade of Kusanagi.

Shinshu Field

Use the mermaid spring where you start and take it to Shinshu Field. When you reach there, head up the path and up the cat statue to the structure at the top of the hill. Use the lightning brush on the statue there and then run around to the far side and enter the door way. Follow the tunnel to the far side and exit in Kamui.

Kamui

Hmmm snow eh? Wonder what the last brush might be. Save at the save well to the left and continue down the path. Enter the area with the pots in the ground and you will get attacked by a few Namahage’s. Use the bombs on them to take them out quickly. Once done, enter the small hut to the left for a scene. Exit and the battle will start with Oki. To defeat Oki, it really doesn’t take much more than bombs and mist. Mist him when he sends out his blades and then drop a bomb beside him. Continue to repeat that and he won’t last in this form for long. When he changes to a wolf, repeat the same thing, although there will be other spirit wolves that attack.

Watch out for them and take them out with slashes. Once he is defeated, a scene will play and play and play and then you will need to talk to Oki again. Head for the cave with the red fog. Enter it and talk to the archer who you met earlier and watch him shoot arrows at the rock. Draw a line from the lightning to an arrow and a tree will be revealed. Use the brush on it to bring it back to life and the zone will be clear of the curse. Head to the left towards Wep Keer and you will see a merchant. Stock up if you like and then head down the path. At the bottom you will be able to go right to Yoshpet or straight, to Wep’Keer.

Wep’Keer

When you enter the town, everything is encased with ice and no doors will open. Save at the well on the left and continue to the far side of town and head up the stairs beside the merchant stand. Keep going up and up until you find the only person alive and talk to him. Samickle will tell you to take off. Head back out of the village and when you near the exit, Kai will stop and talk to you. Watch the scene there and listen to what Kai has to say. After the conversation, you will hear a howl and need to run back up to the hut Samickle was guarding. Enter it to talk to Kemu. At first he will go after Issun. Slash him and then continue the conversation. Once it is over, head out of the hut and up the stairs to the right where the large doors opened. Head forward to the save point and continue along to the path. Follow it up and around to the large seal on the mountain side and enter the hut there for a story. Get the Sewaprolo and you can now enter gates blocked with the seal. Head back out through the large gate and back out of the village to Kamui. Head to the entrance of Yoshpet and a beast called the Bull Charger. Like so many enemies so far, just hit it on the ass and eventually it will go down. Enter the Yoshpet forest when you finally finish it off.

Yoshpet

As you enter the forest, there will be a couple people waiting to talk to you. Do so and then enter the forest. Once you are in, it will become a mini-game and you will have 5 minutes to follow Kai to the next part of the forest. Grab time bubbles to gain 30 seconds and watch out for the trees tossing stuff at you and the falling ice chunks. Once you finally make it to Ponc’tan, another scene will play.

Ponc’tan

Enter the tiny village and head for the center of the area. Cross the bridges to visit the huts and make sure you visit Ishaku for some long winded conversation. After you talk to him, go around the village and talk to everyone and make sure you head up all the centipedes that wrap around the buildings to get to the higher floors and use the flowers to zip to ledges high above. Once you talk to Mrs. Seal, head back to Ishaku and then back out of Ponc’tan. Once outside, Miya will come talk to you again. After that conversation, Issun will ask if you are ready to go to the spirit gate. Say yes and head for the opening across from where you entered the area. This time around, you will be following Issun instead of Kai but it will be the same thing as before. You will have 5 minutes to get through the forest. Watch out for the slippery ice after some jups and there will be demon scrolls floating around this time to avoid. Once you get through, head to the spirit gate and watch the scene with Oki.

Kamiki Village

Once you head through the gate, you will realize that you are in Kamuki Village but it doesn’t seem the same. Head down the path and talk to the villagers and it will seem like you are back in time a while. No one likes you since they think you are working for Orochi. Once you talk to everyone, go to Susano’s house and find him sleeping out back. Bump him with your head to wake him up and he will say he is Nagi. If you recall from the opening story, Nagi is the one who fought Orochi to try and save Nami, the maiden being sacrificed. Nagi will then challenge to a fight. To defeat Nagi, simply use bombs to drop his health and just avoid his sword flying attacks. Once he is down, watch another scene and Nami will run off to get changed for the sacrifice.

When she does, go over to the waterfall and you will see her nekkid in the pond washing. Creep up to the robe slowly – if you don’t you will get spotted- and grab the robe. Once you have it, head back to Nagi and dress him up. Toss him on your back and start your way back to the Moon Cave. On the way, you will run into some clay soldiers that can be taken out easily and quickly. Once you enter the Moon cave, watch as another scene plays on and then you will finally reach Orochi once more

Since the battle is the exact same against Orochi as it was the first time, here’s a cut and paste of the technique needed to kill it. For now, you will need to avoid the heads attacks until it roars at you. When it does, draw a line from the sake pools to the mouth. Do it twice and the head will pass out. Do it to 4 of the heads and you will be able to run up the neck to the bell in the center. When you get there, slash away at it until it breaks. When it does, you will now have to face off against each head. The first head I took on was the green head. Wait until it opens its mouth and then shoot sake at it. Let it hang and then power slash it and it will fall to the ground. Go nuts on it with attacks and it will die. Do the same for the one to the left of it with the black hat and it will die quickly as well.

Keep going left and the next one will have a red hat. Again, slash to make it open its mouth and shoot sake in it. When it comes down, nail it will attacks to finish it off. Continue left and the next one will have a brown hat. Repeat the same moves and on to the next with the pirate hat. Do the same thing to it and when it drops the next one to the left will be wearing a white hat. Kill it and the next will be a yellow hat. There will be one left after him and it will be the water spouting head. When it floods the floor, hop across the lilly pads to the head and hit it. The water will flush away and the head will open its mouth. When it does, repeat the same thing you did for all the other heads and kill it. A scene will then play and you will need to draw a moon in the sky. Once that is done, follow the scene and provide the cuts on the heads for Nagi. You’ll need to be quick, but one you slice 7 of them, sit back and watch the rest of the scenes. You will receive a new weapon as well called Thunder Edge. Once the scene is over, talk to Lika and high tail it back through Yoshpet forest to Wep’keer.
