Games From E3 We Promise* Will Not Suck

*Ok we can't really promise anything. But we did play them. And we're pretty sure they're going to be totally awesome!**

How about this?

We played these games at E3 with our own bare hands and we really liked the 30 minutes we spent playing sections that the developers were comfortable showing us. Now THAT sounds like a winner.

The GameShark E3 team: William Abner, Brandon Cackowski-Schnell, Brian Rowe, Danielle Riendeau, Mitch Dyer and Todd Brakke sat down to discuss the games they felt were surefire winners at E3 based on actual hands on time at the show. No running demos. No trailers. No developer driven demos. We had to have been able to play them -- the longer the better. Each writer's picks are in no particular order, other than the order they are in.

Well, let's see how badly I can screw this up. I am SURE I am forgetting something I played, but here goes:

The Beatles Rock Band

My game of the show, even though I usually detest such labels based on games that aren't complete. I simply cannot see this failing -- at least critically. Will Average Joe Rock Band fan care about the Fab Four? I don't know. Will it be hard enough for the hardcore who can nail Battery on Expert? No idea. I DO know that this demo was fantastic, Harmonix has a track record of knowing how to craft a game, and I could have spent a good half a day at the booth jamming with anyone who would care to join me. My only hope is that they pick a few lesser known but equally brilliant tracks for the initial 45. She Said, She Said, please?

Madden 10

Me and Madden have a checkered past. I like my football realistic -- at least to a certain degree and Madden has catered mainly to the arcade fan while trying to implement new features with varying levels of success. (Passing cone...) This year it's different -- the team working on Madden is stressing realism and extensive accuracy more than ever before and after playing for about 30 minutes I'm absolutely pumped to play this. Online franchise mode is a great addition, assuming it works as planned, but I am excited about the gameplay. These guys want this game to succeed -- on their terms. I'm on board.
