Namco Bandai reveals new PS2 game based on the new Digimon Data Squad TV series.

NAMCO BANDAI Games America announced today Digimon World Data Squad for the PlayStation 2. Based on the new Digimon Data Squad animated series premiering this fall on Toon Disney's Jetix, Digimon World Data Squad is a new RPG adventure based on the popular franchise. The game focuses on Marcus Damon, a smart 14 year old and an undefeated street fighter and a member of the secretive DATS (Data Squad). Marcus and his team examine the mysterious disappearance of numerous kids Marcus will have to battle the Seven Demon Kings, who are wreaking havoc across the world. It is up to players to find the missing kids all the while defeating the deadly Seven Demon Kings and their evil minions.

Digimon World Data Squad promises over 140 Digimon to collect and evolve; cel-shaded artwork and emotive Digimon that are affected by the way you treat them; over 250 items to find and acquire during the course of the game; a unique storyline and characters; and voice talent from the same voice actors from the cartoon series. Look for the game later this year.
