Demiurge: A Healthy Work Force
Game development studio supports and rewards healthy choices.
Date: Thursday, August 02, 2007
Author: James Fudge

Based out of Cambridge, Massachusetts Demiurge Studios is an independent, bootstrapped video game development house that prides themselves on their lifestyle-oriented approach to developing games. You won't find the typical 80-hour work week when it hits crunch time. They look for people with a passion to develop games but also for those who have outside interests as well. Those who will better take advantage of the employee-first attitude of the studio. Demiurge is taking a stand against the game studio stereotype by meeting it head on and taking an active interest in the health of their employees.

"We're doing our part by providing healthy snack alternatives as well as the traditional "gamer" fare you'd find at any other development studio," said Studio Director Albert Reed. "We also currently provide health coverage that rewards our employees for being active and making healthy lifestyle choices."
