In the first beach volleyball game available for the PlayStation 2, Summer Heat Beach Volleyball, Acclaim has kept its eye firmly focused of keeping the action light and the game approachable by all players.

Clearly aimed at the mass market that made Sega's Virtua Tennis so popular, Summer Heat Beach Volleyball's two-on-two action offers the player a simple control interface that will allow gamers of almost any skill level to get into the game and feel they are doing well even against seasoned players.

Players choose from 14 different male and female customizable characters, each with personal attributes and abilities, and play in twelve different locals that include Venice Beach Stadium, Flamingo Pier, Emerald Marina and Silver Sands Beach.

Arcade, Exhibition, Tournament and Mini-Game modes offer players the opportunity to unlock special moves and other game-play features.

Set for release only next month (June 2003), the build at E3 was virtually complete.

Gamers who like to get four chumps on a sofa and let the fun begin should watch for Summer Heat Beach Volleyball's release and give it a try.
