That lovable little Australian scamp known as TY the Tasmanian Tiger is back again and he’s better then ever with updated graphics and new gameplay. After having defeated the not so cuddly arch nemesis known as Boss Cass in the previous game and having finally put him away for good, TY doesn’t have time to rest on his haunches. After being called to Dreamtime by the Bunyip Elder to help rid their world of the evil Quinkan, beings that exist to suck the joy out of everything, it seems that the Quinkan have made their way to Earth after being vanquished from their world. As TY returns home, he finds the Quinkan have taken over his home land and have subjected everyone to their cruel ways. While his former team known as the Bush Rescuers has disbanded, it’s up to TY to reunite his former team and stop the Quinkan and their supreme ruler known as the Quinking.

Thankfully TY still has his phenomenal array of boomerang weapons to deal with the Quinkan but he will need more than that. There is whispers of a magical boomerang or “rang” that will be the only way to defeat the ultimate evil and it’s up to TY and his pals to find it and overcome the Quinkan forces. With new enemies including, giant robots, Uber lizards, and the Quinkans themselves, they will all stop at nothing to make sure TY doesn’t interfere in their plans. Of course what would TY be with out his trusty rangs to help him out? The new customizable rang system allows you to personalize rang types with hundred of possibilities. Purchase the basic rang chassis and use Bunyip stones to add elemental powers such as fire, ice and lightning as well as increase the power of the rang’s speed and distance.

Along with the new rang features, there will also be some new vehicles for TY to take for a spin. Included in the game to help TY take on the gloomy Quinkans is the “Crabmersible”, a giant crab like creation that uses a mix of robocrab and Bunyip technology and allows TY to ride as well as attack his foes with. For some sky high fun, there are the “Gunyip” airships which will allow TY to take to the skies and engage the Quinkan in aerial battles and nail biting dog fights. TY 3 will also feature a revised version of the Living Environment Technology System, or LETS for short, that creates abundant organic world surroundings as well as a streaming level technology feature that allows for large areas of uninterrupted gameplay. Not only will the single player facet of the game be a new experience with familiar faces that you will recognize from previous games, but the multiplayer aspect will have some new features as well.

The hair raising, intense and hilariously fun competition of Outback Cart Racing returns with new power-ups and larger and wilder tracks. There is also a multiplayer version of the Gunyip air fights where each plane can pick up weapons such as guided missiles and use techniques like barrels rolls and sudden stops to keep the enemy on their toes. TY 3 is sure to be an exciting adventure, not just for kids but for gamers of all ages. Along with recently announcing a new co-publisher, Activision Value, the Tasmanian Tiger has also secured a deal with DPS Film Roman, the producers of The Simpsons, to develop the TY IP into an animated cartoon. Be sure to keep an eye out for TY the Tasmanian Tiger 3 later this year when it will be available for Xbox, PlayStation 2, GameCube and Game Boy Advance.
