For fans of management simulations, the Manager Mode in FIFA 10 has also gotten an overhaul. I'm no real life football club manager, but with the tweaks they made to the transfer system, player development, scouting, and play-calling from opposing managers, it seems like a much more realistic set-up. Then again, one could argue it's not since even the joked-about stupid clubs and franchises make intelligent decisions...

The final change I'd like to mention is the Be a Pro Mode, and its inclusion of My Virtual Pro. Using EA's technology, you have the option to map your own face to a virtual player, and determine how he evolves as a player. You can use this individual in Be a Pro, the Manager Mode, or even take him online to play against other people. It has very RPG-like elements with the way players progress, and it's a great way to extend the game’s playing life

There are other changes, but mentioning every little tweak would take pages and pages. Suffice it to say, thanks to both the aforementioned larger tweaks, and the unmentioned minor ones, FIFA Soccer 10 is the pinnacle of videogame soccer.

If you're a fan of the sport – real or virtual – it's a must-buy.
