Date: Monday, February 19, 2007
Author: James Fudge

Crytek, the developers of the hit game "Far Cry" and the upcoming original PC game "Crysis", announced the world's first public presentation of their CryENGINE 2 middleware to be held at 2007 Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco. This year, Crytek will be giving a full hands-on demonstration of the capabilities of their new CryENGINE 2 game middleware to the public as well as potential future licencees. Professional developers and modders alike who attend the GDC will be able to get a first hand look at the tools used by Crytek's own specialists to create their current game. Interested parties should check out Booth 848 for a presentation. Features which will be shown publicly for the first time include the interactive "What you see is what you play" Sandbox2 Terrain and Visual Mission editor with fully adjustable Time of Day settings, the Character Animation Editor, and the new Motion Captured/Phoneme Driven Facial Animation Editor, as well as the new Asset Creation Pipleline for creating realistic, interactive and breakable objects and vegetation.
