Konami Digital Entertainment today announced Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus has shipped to retail outlets nationwide exclusively for the PSP. Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus takes the series in a new direction, focusing on a deep multiplayer experience and introducing new stages, playable characters, and gameplay modes.

In addition to Ad-Hoc, infrastructure-based wireless play and Wi-Fi HotSpot support the game also includes a brand new single player mode - Infinity Mission. Infinity Mission lets players engage in missions of increasing difficulty, gathering both weapons and team members in the face of increasingly tougher enemies. Through Infinity Mission, players will be able to recruit brand new soldiers from the Metal Gear Solid universe, including Raiden and Old Snake from the upcoming Metal Gear Solid 4®: Guns of the Patriots and bring them online to battle other live opponents.

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus also allows players to upload their saved data from the original Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops to create instant squads. Additionally, players can choose from a variety of new environment maps, such as an updated version of the REX Hangar area of the original Metal Gear Solid, for more multiplayer mayhem. Tutorials and improved in-game support are available to help players of all skill levels to jump right into the action or hone their skills.

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Plus is rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB and available for an SRP of $19.99. For more information, visit www.konami.com .
