Takashi Miike to Direct Ace Attorney
Film probably doesn't include decapitations.
Date: Monday, May 23, 2011
Author: Brian Rowe

Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival, Japanese director Takashi Miike let the cat out of the bag regarding his next project, "It is a very light comedy that I am filming now, a court drama, based on a video game, the Nintendo game DS." How many games outside of the Ace Attorney series can you think of that mix comedy and courts?

Miike, best known in the US for Audition and Ichi the Killer, has a reputation for shock and violence, despite a diverse body of work that includes children's fare (The Great Yokai War, Yatterman) and comedy (The Happiness of the Katakuris) and even theater (Demon Pond).
