MediEvil Resurrection Review
9 out of 9
The game is just how you remembered it for the PSX, which is good or bad..

During the game, as you kill bad guys, their spirits fill up a chalice. Once your chalice is at 100% and you have found a chalice in the game, you can then go into the Hall of Heroes and meet a real hero who will help you out in the game’s quest.

If there’s one area that is superb, it’s the audio. The voice acting is laugh out loud funny – I mean that in a good way. There’s actual comedy in-game (check out the scene with the Grim Reaper) and I dare you not to chuckle. The sounds of the game are eerie and well done.

The main game can be finished over a weekend. There is a multiplayer option – however most of these games aren’t very fun. Only ad-hoc mode is supported, but a nice touch is that only one player needs a game to play (you’ll still need 2 PSPs though).

There are also some fun mini games available, some of which need to be unlocked by visiting Gallowmere Plains in the main game. They aren’t anything to write home about but are fun little diversions and increase the replay value.

Overall, the game is a satisfactory diversion on the PSP that’s hampered by some control and camera issues. It could have been a lot more fun.
