Tekken: Dark Resurrection Review
13 out of 15
Easily the best fighting game to come out in a handheld, Tekken: Dark Resurrection is fantastic.

The network mode is interesting…although you can’t play people over the internet; you can download their ‘ghost’ which is how they played the game. Usually you see ghost mode dealing with race cars and race tracks, and I believe this is the first time I’ve seen a ghost mode in a fighting game. It works and it’s a lot of fun, although I’d still prefer live online fighting. You can upload your leaderboard scores and also your own ghost.

There are over 30 different characters in the game, so it’ll be a while before you get bored. All of them have their own unique characteristics and it does make a difference who you pick to go into battle. Although you could be outfitted to death, I never felt as if that was the only reason why I played it. It is very important to continue to play to increase your ranking in game, especially if you’re a sucker for leaderboards (which I am).

Tekken Dark Resurrection is the complete package for the PSP. It is easily one of the best fighting games I’ve played all year. During my playtime with this game, I often remark that I can’t believe I’m playing this on a PSP. It’s that good and it’s highly recommended – you just have to get over the controls.
