Witness the zombie. For years he has been portrayed as a shambling husk, eternally hungering for the sweet, tender flesh of the living. Put down upon and hunted by the race he once called home, our undead friends are truly one of gaming's most misunderstood villains. Has anyone ever thought about what the zombie wants? If you've ever found yourself sympathetic to the plight of the zombie, Undead Knights may be the game for you, provided you can get around the unwieldy camera and you don't mind killing the same guys over and over again.

The King has a new bride. Yay! Unfortunately Romulus and Remus, brothers in the Blood clan and Remus's sweetie Sylvia, daughter of the king, don't like the new queen all that much and for their outspokenness they're rewarded with death on the battlefield and resurrection by some shadowy force. To help blunt the trauma of being betrayed, slaughtered and brought back to un-life they've been given dominion over the undead as well as some nifty attack moves and some really big weapons.

The game's main hook is the ability to turn your opponents into zombies by grabbing them and mashing on the circle button until they turn into one of your slavering hordes and this part of the game is done extremely well. Generic soldiers can be turned with minimal effort when they're fully healed however softening them up will cause you to turn them more quickly as well as net your more points in your Wrath guage so that you can eventually pull off your uber-attacks. Stronger enemies will need to be beaten up a bit before they fall to your necromantic embrace. Even the huge executioner mini-bosses can be turned to the way of the zombie which can be incredibly useful when there are three of these big dudes lumbering around, all looking to take a piece out of you.

Once you've created your zombies they'll automatically attack anything around them in the mindless, savage fashion we've all come to know and love. If the general milling about isn't to your liking you can direct your army to specific targets such as people to kill or structures to be taken down. You can also use your zombies to create bridges and ladders. Finally you can pick up zombies and either throw them at opponents, use them as undead shields or slam them into the ground for a powerful area of effect attack.
