As I wind down this article, I must sadly conclude that the rating I’ve settled on must remain. I was honestly expecting a really neat experience out of Scrapland, but the tedium and ultimate lack of innovation just left me flustered. This game is by no means bad - gamers who enjoy a pretty picture and like the concept of a game world inhabited entirely by robots with different ways of interacting with each other that you can possess and control might want to give this one a glance. But personally, I may have set my expectations a little too high, which is why I’ve been disappointed with what is ultimately an average game as a result. Scrapland even has multiplayer support for up to 16 players, but I was sadly unable to find any active servers to get a thorough understanding for how this mode works or if it can offer any enjoyment – from what I hear though, the online modes revolve entirely around gunship combat, which is a huge let-down when some really cool multiplayer fun could have been had from the whole foot-based disguise-oriented gameplay. With Half-Life 2 already out, and numerous other big titles on the way, I just have to give this one a thumbs-down as far as the PC gaming market goes – it just doesn’t have enough steam to hold its own in the mad Christmas rush. Sorry gang.
