Well, here it is from Shout! Factory: the third season of World Poker Tour (a 4 DVD set of the best of the season). For anyone uninterested in poker this DVD box set is not for you, but for those poker fanatics out there or anyone interested in getting some excellent tips and learning more about the game, this will be right up your alley.

Come along with hosts Mike Sexton and Vince Van Patten and get the chance to be right in the middle of some of the greatest poker action there is. During the 8 tournaments found on these DVDs you'll see some big names as well as some new comers to the game battle it out for a total of over 70 million dollars in cash prizes, leading all the way up to the big WPT world championship in Las Vegas, Nevada. This set has so much to offer people it's crazy: there are some real great tips to help hone your skills as well as interviews with some of the best players in the world. Wanna know what big slick, snowmen, a pair of ducks, a Doyle Bruson, the button and all the other interesting lingo that goes hand in hand with Texas Hold 'Em means? Well just about any question you have about the game of Texas Hold 'Em will be answered by the time you’re done watching the over 13 hours found in this set. There is also deleted hands that never made it to television and funny bloopers with the gorgeous Shana Hiatt. We all know what the show is about which means we should all know that these DVDs are the Holy Grail for poker players, whether honing your skills or enjoying the skilled play of others.

The game (in case you don’t know it) is very similar to regular poker: you get two down cards that only you see, then you bet on them. When the betting is over the dealer flips three cards in the center of the table (these cards are called the river, which are community cards for everyone in the hand to play off of), the next card the dealer flips is the turn card (or fourth street) and again you bet and finally the last card is flipped, known as the river card. So now all players have seven cards, the five on the table and the two in their hand) the object is to make the best hand you can using only three out of five cards in the center as well as the two in your hand so you ultimately have five cards total you can use. Now again this is the easy part of Texas Hold Em, the skill comes into play when bluffing your opponents into folding on the basis that your hand is better (whether it is or not deson't matter if you're bluffing). The best part of the game is sometimes the interaction you get to see while watching.

The things the players say to each other to try to shake their opponents or get a read on the hand they are playing is very amusing. And the intense grilling you see when they are trying to foresee bluffs is nothing short of the most important lesson you can get from these DVDs. In Texas Hold ‘Em its all about bluffing your opponent - a lot of people may put a lot of stock in luck but if you’re a good player luck doesn’t get a chance to come into play very often. Another thing to add to the excitement of the game is that not only seasoned players are meeting at these tournaments anymore - you'll find more and more greenhorns sitting in on the huge payoff action. That adds a definite sense of irritability to the old pros being that it's a lot harder to get a read on their, ultimately knocking some of them out a little early - but then again, all the newbies out there have to get their starts somewhere.

So if you're like me and you rather hang on to the money you have (then lose it in two hands to a pro) then you'll find the safest bet is to get these videos and sit in on the action from a very safe distance. Especially if you watch all of these tournaments on television anyway because you can pause the action for a bathroom break or a snack – plus the deleted scenes and bonus material on this box set won't be found anywhere else. With over thirteen hours of video you’re definitely getting your money's worth.
