You will spend much more time investigating, than you will cross-examining. This can be quite fun, as you learn the back-stories of all the characters, but more importantly their motives. You will discover all of their relationships, and then use them against them. You consistently will be called in to make a situation awkward, and put the pressure mainly on those whom have caused the murder.

Eventually you may press too hard on a witness, or present evidence at the wrong time, and this will get you on the bad side of the judge. Each wrong decision will put you further into trouble, so much so that you could lose the game. Generally you are able to make five strikes per day of trial, so make sure that you push your evidence, or the witnesses at the right time, or an innocent person can go to jail.

The storyline sounds like Perry Mason, and Matlock joined up to write the story, and I mean that as a compliment. Everything is intricate, and relates to everything else, which leads to an incredibly deep experience. You feel fully immersed in the game, as if you were part of the stories, and this is extremely rewarding. This game does a fantastic job of delivering its message.

When it comes to the graphics, and sound, most of them are sprites. There is no talking in the game either, as everything is written down for you to read. The backgrounds, and sprites look great, and there is no complaint there, but it can feel like you are reading a book, instead of playing a game. I do not expect more, because everything looks great, and it does not currently seem possible to have talking on the DS, other than the few times you’ll raise an objection in court.

I have two main complaints with this game. The first is the replay value. Once you have beaten the game, there is no need to replay it, as there is no extra content unlocked by doing so. It would be like reading a book over and over again, which could get boring. The second is the lack of need for a stylist. This game could have been converted to play on a GBA, as the game’s graphics are not hogs on the system.

Overall this is a game I reccomend you pick up. Even through you will only need to play it once, you will be glad you did so. All and all, Captain Gordon gives this game a B+.
