Suikoden Tactics is pretty easy to play, and it does allow you to have quite a few characters battling at one time. That would be it’s saving grace -- in the beginning -- and for those who are not into tactic games because they are a little too difficult for some, then this would be a perfect game for you to pick it up. This makes it a great introduction to the Tactic’s world. The people, who have been with the Tactic genre for quite a while though, will have fun for the first little while. They will soon notice the ease of play then will soon put it down, possibly to pick up the king of Tactics games... Disgaea.
The game did have some promise, but it never seemed to have been delivered. Continuing an idea from another bad game generally does not assist making a good one, especially storyline wise. Since the developers have shown so much promise in the past, they should be able to show some in this game, even if it were their first attempt at a tactics game. I recommend this game mainly to collectors, whom try and buy an entire series of games, like the Suikoden franchise, but other than that there are more enticing games out there. Hopefully more time and effort is spent into Suikoden V. All and all, Captain Gordon gives this game... a C+.
