There is also a verses mode to play through, but you will need for both players to have the game to play. I really had hoped that multiple people could have played off one cartridge but sadly that was not the case in this game. I figured it would have been best to allow others to try it out in this style before buying it. You also have an extensive practice mode that allows you to get a stranglehold on all of the moves in the game. Since each of them can be activated on different characters by pressing the same buttons, going through it once will do wonders. It also shows you that the positioning of your character will activate different moves, such as if you are above, below, or beside your opponent, each attack will be different.

You also have the Z-Battle mode, which allows you to run through the game to unlock the "Maximum" mode that is much more extensive. These modes allow you to play as any of the unlocked characters, filtered down by the Dragon point system. When you complete the maximum mode you will additionally unlock a new character, which keeps the game going when you are having issues obtaining them through the storyline mode.

With the storyline mode alone, it adds many hours to the game play. You will not just sit down and play it through on a single sitting rather you will be drawn back over and over to play it. With over 30 characters, and the different power levels, you get to thoroughly customize your team for battle, which puts you in the driver seat. With the three on three battles -- or one side may have less depending on how you set it up -- you will find great satisfaction whether you win or lose. It simply ends up being a really good game. All and all Captain Gordon gives this game... a B.
