Bethesda has removed many of the boring elements from the Morrowind design--mainly because you have access to a horse early in the game so you can travel along the countryside at a brisk clip as well as a few early fast travel options (and not a Cliff Racer in sight!). The pacing in Oblivion is better; things get interesting much quicker which leads to a faster sense of accomplishment. Despite its size you are never left with a feeling that there's nothing left to do. You can literally spend months playing Oblivion and still find trouble to get into without touching the main quest. Best of all, the quests are detailed, challenging, inventive, and exciting and with that much good content it's impossible to deny that despite its hiccups, Oblivion is huge success. - William Abner
